About Galapagos Diving

Due to the Island’s isolated evolution and strict conservation effort, the Galapagos is one of the best places in the world to see unique and abundant marine wildlife.

It offers an unparalleled diving experience with remarkable diversity of marine life. As a highly protected marine reserve with pristine waters, animals often show little fear of humans, making for incredible close encounters.

Explore stunning underwater volcanic formations and unique geological features. Dive with large pelagics including multiple species of sharks, rays, mola molas, sea turtles, seals, and even whale sharks.

Scuba Diver Level

All divers must be Advanced certified and minimum 100 logged dives.

Divers must log a minimum 25 dives in the 12 months prior to the trip and have experience in deep dives, drift dives and cold water.

Please note this is not diving for newer or inexperienced divers. These diver requirements are to ensure the safety and enjoyment for all divers on board.

The waters in the Galapagos Islands are a unique mixture of warm and cold water with thermoclines ranging from 65F-80F. Minimum 5mm-7mm wetsuit with hood and gloves or drysuit with light underwear.

Nitrox available for $100 USD per week and highly recommended.

All diving from a tender with support staff to assist. Strong currents may occur. SMB required. Divers must be physically fit enough to dive from a tender and in currents

Galapagos Itinerary

Galapagos is one of the most exciting destinations in the world. The scenic view of the Darwin Arch is as picturesque as you can imagine. The following dive schedule provided is based on tides, currents, and weather conditions.

Thursday: Baltra Airport, Afternoon Greeting by Staff, Bus Transfer to the Itabaca Channel Canal and Boarding. Welcome, and Orientation Dive at Punta Carrion at Itabaca Channel.

Friday: 2 Morning dives; Punta Carrion (Santa Cruz Island) or Bartolome Punta. 1 afternoon hike to Bartolome Summit and panga ride at Pinacle Rock.

Saturday: January to May: 2 morning dives at Darwin and 2 afternoon dives at Wolf.  June to December: 2 morning dives and 2 afternoon dives at Darwin.

Sunday: January to May: 4 Dives at Wolf; 2 morning, 2 afternoon dives. June to December: 2 morning dives, 1 afternoon.

Monday: January to May: 4 dives at Cabo Marshall; 2 morning dives, 1 afternoon dive. June to December: 2 morning dives at Darwin; and 2 afternoon dives at Wolf.

Tuesday: 2 morning dives at Cabo Douglas and 2 afternoon dives at Punta Vicente Roca.

Wednesday: 1 morning dive at Cousins Rock. Wednesday afternoon arrive at Itabaca Channel or Puerto Ayora. After lunch guests will disembark at 1 pm to go ashore for a private bus tour to see the beautiful Highlands of Santa Cruz Island. This will include a scenic view over Santa Cruz and a Tortoise Reserve to see giant tortoises.

After the hike, guests can walk through town, shop and visit the tortoise-breeding center Fausto Llerena at the Charles Darwin Research Station. Guests will have dinner ashore at a local restaurant of their choice (only meal not included in the cruise). The Galapagos Aggressor will depart at 10 pm from Puerto Ayora town to Baltra.

Thursday: Guests will have a full breakfast then check out and depart to the Baltra Airport.

About Galapagos Aggressor III

The Galapagos Aggressor III is 100 feet long, built and powered for comfort, safety and stability. She is diesel powered, cruise at an average speed of 10 knots and have 110 and 220 volt power onboard.

Comfortable accommodations include four deluxe staterooms which have two twin beds and three portholes and four master staterooms with a queen bed (which can be modified to 2 twin beds) and a large window. Each stateroom has a private toilet, shower, hair dryer, TV/media center, temperature controls and safe storage box.

The Galapagos Aggressor III sleeps 16 guests in privacy and comfort. She has a beautiful spacious salon, large covered cocktail desk, chaise lounges and deck chairs, bar, grill, and hot tub.

Machu Picchu & Peru Optional

Add Intrepid’s 6 night Inca Trail Express Tour to your trip. This trip allows both trekkers and non-trekkers to visit Machu Picchu – one of the magnificent Seven Wonders of the World, perched high in the Andes mountains.

Option to choose your tour: Train Route, Inca Trail Hike or Quarry Trail Hike.

Tour highlights also include the Sacred Valley and Cusco, South America’s oldest continuously inhabited city. The city has ancient foundations, an interesting blend of Incan and Spanish influences and seemingly endless things to do and see.

Flights: Plan to arrive in Guayaquil, Ecuador one-night  prior to the yacht’s departure.  The next day fly to the Galapagos Airport in Baltra (GPS) and meet the Aggressor team to be transferred to the boat. Estimated round trip airfare from Toronto $1500-$2000 CDN. Flights are not bookable til June 2026.

TRAVEL DOCUMENTS: As of 2025 Canadian passport holders do not require a visa to enter Ecuador or Peru. Passport must be valid for at least 6 months from date of entry . If you require an additional Visa to enter in 2027 you are responsible to have the appropriate documentation.
