In the Community

Supporting the Niagara Region

Each year DDS is involved in community events within our local Niagara Region and surrounding communities in a variety of ways.

Dan’s Dive Shops’ core group of staff and instructors can be found often times offering free Discover Scuba Courses, or subsidized programs to various groups, organizations and events, conservation efforts and dive expeditions.

Film Projects

We’ve worked with awareness films such as co-producing the critically acclaimed documentary “We Are Water” and supporting the most recent film “Extinction Soup” from documentary filmmaker Philip Waller.

Dan’s Dive Shop is a local home-grown business and is supportive of local businesses by being a member of:

Canadian Federation of Independent Business
Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce

We also support community artists, showcasing photographers and artists who have a passion for diving. Currently on display at the shop are the works of:

Fawn Messer – a Niagara native who loves to photograph sharks and wrecks.

Grace Marquez Studio – a local artist who paints the most stunning underwater scenes of her own exploits and commissions her clients hire her to paint. You can commission your own custom artworks.

Stu Seldon – a local photographer who has captured the beauty of many of Tobermory’s classic shipwrecks, as well as our local Tiller Wreck and many other sites around the globe.

Every year we organize a “Dive Against Debris – cleaning up our local waters and submitting our findings to Project Aware to help gain a global understanding of human impact on the Earth’s waterways. We believe in creating awareness around the quality of our water supply and the lakes and rivers we love to dive. Check out our online photo gallery for highlights of our Project Aware Events.

Support & Sponsorship

We take pride in helping shape our customers diving careers and nothing gives us a greater sense of accomplishment than seeing our divers aspire to be the best they can be in the water and above the water, so we encourage our clients to dive as often as they can.

We are pleased to offer our most active divers “Free Air” fills once they reach their annual diving commitment of at least 50 logged dives, we will comp our clients air fills for the rest of the season. Some restrictions apply.

We support many local dive clubs and independent instructors helping the clubs obtain the best equipment at a greatly reduced price, as well as assisting instructors in helping them service their own students through use of our pool times, rental equipment, subsidized prices on materials and manufacturers sponsored equipment promotions.
