Join Dan’s Dive Shop February 5- 14, 2027 and dive the beautiful eastern Caribbean islands of Saba and St Kitts. Starting in St Maarten you will spend a week diving and exploring aboard the Caribbean Explorer II ending the trip on the island of St Kitts.
This trip offers up to 27 dives on two distinctive islands of Saba and St Kitts!
Saba, the Unspoiled Queen, is known for offshore pinnacles and deep underwater seamounts. The island sits atop a dormant volcano surrounded by warm volcanic sand. The abrupt and jagged topography above the sea is mirrored below, with dramatic dive sites and a profusion of marine life.
Common marine life sightings include curious nurse sharks, reef sharks, turtles, lobster, eels, and for the lucky divers eagle rays, sea horses, and batfish.
St. Kitts offers a wide variety of sites including finger reefs, recent wrecks, and a variety of coral labyrinths that will capture your imagination. The most popular Wreck of the River Taw is continually voted as a favourite dive site among divers due to its vibrant coral growth and the surge of macro-life activity on the night dives.
Bring your macro-lenses to St Kitts as you can often spot frogfish, sea horses, and other marine life that’s considered rare in the Caribbean.

DIVING SABA & ST KITTS
The diving within the islands is incredibly diverse and beautiful. Dive sites range from pristine offshore pinnacles, walls and sand gullies with reef heads, to historical relics encrusted with corals, sponges and sea fans.
DIVING LOGISTICS
Water temps average 76˚F and visibility 50-150 feet. 5mm wetsuit recommended. Your dives will be done from the vessel itself, taking advantage of the easy-access dive platform and other on-board amenities. Up to 5 dives offered daily including night dives. Minimum Advanced Certification.
TRIP ITINERARY
Friday Feb 5: Arrive in St Maarten and spend the night at a hotel. Optional group flight with WestJet from Toronto available.
Saturday Feb 6: Guests board the Caribbean Explorer at 3pm followed by dinner and Captain’s Briefing. Depart for Saba (3 ½ hours).
Sunday Feb 7: Five dives in Saba.
Monday Feb 8: Five dives Saba & Optional island tour (miss 1 dive)
Tuesday Feb 9: Five dives with night crossing to St. Kitts (3 ½ hours)
Wed-Thurs: St. Kitts: five dives; Night at mooring.
Friday Feb 12: Two dives and lunch; return to Port Zante. Optional afternoon island tour and dinner ashore, with night spent aboard vessel at dock.
Saturday Feb 13: Disembark in St Kitts. Option to spend the night in St Kitts or travel by ferry or plane to St Maarten and spend the night there.
Sunday Feb 14: Depart from St Maarten on WestJet to YYZ (optional group flight).
Optional Land Tours
Three optional land tours are offered on this liveaboard. Divers can explore forts, rainforests, cultural attractions and more on land.
Island tours can be arranged at each island visited for those interested. Tour costs range for $35-$60 USD per person and are payable on board.
M/V Caribbean Explorer II
Carrying 18 guests and up to 7 crew, the Caribbean Explorer II features a spacious dive deck, ample space for relaxing and 9 air-conditioned staterooms.
Staterooms all have private bathrooms and most of which have queen or double-sized beds are on the main and lower decks. Most staterooms have outside views.
The upper deck contains semi-enclosed dining and entertainment area with TV, DVD, stereo and wet bar. The open rear sun deck is furnished with lounge chairs for sunbathing.
Dive Deck
Expansive and easily accommodates all guests. The dive deck is equipped with a large camera table, individual gear bins, recharging station, a bathroom, rinse bins, wetsuit hanging area and warm fresh water showers.
There are two ladders leading down to the dive platform and guests can enter the water from either side of the dive deck.
Meals Onboard
Included aboard the Caribbean Explorer II, evening meals usually consist of fresh vegetables, rice, pasta, chicken, beef, turkey, pork and fish.
Start your dive day with a breakfast of eggs, bacon, pancakes, French toast, muffins, danish and fresh fruit.
Lunches vary from hot soup and sandwiches, burgers, pasta, assorted salads and quiche. Plus snack on homemade baked breads, cookies and brownies between dives.
TRAVEL LOGISTICS
The liveaboard starts in St Maarten with direct flights available between Toronto and St Maarten.
The liveaboard ends in St Kitts with the option to take your choice of the ferry or a short flight back to St Maarten.
One night hotel stay is required in St Maarten pre liveaboard followed with a one night stay post liveaboard in your choice of St Maarten or St Kitts.
