
Learn to Scuba Dive
Our premier PADI Open Water Diver Scuba Diving Course is the first in a series of progressive scuba diving programs offered by our award-winning 5-star PADI Dive Centre.
Learn to scuba dive with Canada’s Oldest PADI training centre, since 1974.
The Open Water Course provides the strongest foundation for student divers with no prior diving experience of any dive store in Canada.
Topics covered provide in-depth knowledge of basic scuba related theory and equipment (including but not limited to: horizontal trim and buoyancy, fin techniques, weighting, pressure, volume, diving orientations, specialized equipment, basic decompression theory, diving accidents, first aid treatment, dive planning and table and computer use).
PADI Open Water Course includes:
- PADI eLearning you complete at home prior to the course start date.
- Classroom Training where we fill in the gaps missed from traditional scuba training.
- Gear Fitting to learn how to properly fit, assemble and rig scuba gear including weight placement.
- Pool Sessions where you will learn how to use scuba gear and important underwater skills.
- Four Open Water Dives at a local dive site where you will apply all learned scuba skills.
- Scuba Gear Rentals including Wetsuit, BCD, Regulators, Dive Computer, Compass, Tanks and Weights.
- Digital PADI Certification Card
PADI Open Water Course Price
All Inclusive Course $795 + tax. Includes PADI eLearning, classroom training, scuba gear rental, gear fitting, pool session, open water dives and digital certification card.
PADI Referral Course $495 + tax Includes PADI eLearning, classroom training, scuba gear rental, gear fitting, pool session.
Student Diver Pre-Requisites
Swim Abilities All scuba diving students must be able to comfortably swim and tread in water too deep to stand.
Scuba Gear Our course price includes the rental of scuba gear from premier brands such as Halcyon, Shearwater and Diverite.
All students must have their own scuba quality mask, snorkel, open heel fins and boots. These are personal items that every certified scuba diver should have, we will supply the rest or purchase your own gear for instant savings.
PADI eLearning Our course price includes your PADI Open Water Diver eLearning. It must be completed in full prior to your course start date in order to ensure success in your training. Please allow 5-10 hours to complete the eLearning. You can purchase your eLearning now to get started. Your PADI Dive Shop must be set to Dan’s Dive Shop.
Diver Medical & Waivers Students must complete the PADI Diver Medical & Waivers prior to any in-water training. If you answer YES on both the first and second pages of the PADI Diver Medical you will require clearance from your doctor before you can start scuba training.
