Cavern Diving is simply an amazing course in an amazing environment teaching you amazing skills like how to use a reel properly as a guideline into the overhead environment, proper gas management, how to handle out of air emergencies in the overhead environment, as well as silt out’s, lost line drills and much more.

Progressive scuba configuration (backplate or approved harness, DIN regulators rigged with proper hose lengths, 2 reels or spools, 2 cutting tools, primary light (Goodman handle mounted) and 2 backup flashlights (twist actuator lights, no switches),

Caverns exist in many dive spots all over the world and vary from freshwater springs, to ocean coastlines and volcanic islands. While these spots are stunning and beautiful from a diver’s perspective they can be dangerous without the proper knowledge and skills to enter and explore them correctly.
If you’re ready for a challenge and want to develop the skills to safely explore a cavern, this is an exciting and incredibly rewarding course which will open up more diving possibilities and experiences for you as a diver.
This cavern course will introduce you to an incredible new environment and teach you how to dive in overhead environments safely, utilizing the proper skills and equipment to engage in this environment.
Our Naui Cavern Course covers many similar topics found in cave diving such as: hazards of diving in an overhead environment, use of guideline, reel handling skills, redundant equipment, anti silting kicks, using gas reserves, use of a 7ft. hose, streamlined equipment configuration using a Hogarthian philosophy, prepares students for a Cave Course.
- Line handling and protocol along with reel use inside a cavern
- Other specialized equipment for cavern diving, such as lights and redundant breathing systems.
- Avoiding disorientation and anti-silting techniques
- Dive planning, including depth and distance limits and air management for cavern diving.
What Gear Will You Need?
Proper harness, DIN regulator rigged with long hose/short hose on a necklace, spg, dive computer wrist mounted, wrist mount compass, 2 cutting tools, 3 lights, double tanks or high capacity single with dual outlet regulators.
