Geoff was certified locally in 2002 and has been diving ever since. In 2006 he decided to head down south where he obtained advanced and rescue certifications, divemaster and instructor.
Upon Geoff’s return to Canada, he looked at a number of stores and kept coming back to us, as we offered the best equipment, advice and pricing. He also liked that we were actively diving on a regular basis.
Being that we won’t just hire an instructor because they have that ticket, Geoff decided it was time to upgrade some of his certifications, gain more experience in Canadian Diving and take the plunge in a much drier environment, by purchasing a drysuit.
Geoff is a natural teacher, so it’s fitting that he actually is one now successfully graduating from Teacher’s College and is presently seeking employment full time.
Geoff is a PADI EFR Emergency First Response Instructor and Instructor Trainer for us as well as a Divers Alert Network instructor able to teach all of the DAN Courses.
Geoff is currently enrolled in our NAUI Intro to Tech Course and we look forward to watching Geoff blossom into the most modern, comfortable and aware diver he can be.
A little Q&A with Geoff:
Q: What is your next personal or professional dive training goal?
A: To complete Intro to Tech courses and work my way toward IDC Staff Instructor.
Q: What spot is on your dive bucket list?
A: I would love to do the Empress of Ireland, and the top 10 cities underwater, and USS Oriskany – love wrecks so think that this one would be cool.
Q: What’s one piece of dive gear you can NOT live without and why?
A: My backplate – it’s so much better diving with that then a jacket style. I also want to upgrade so I can do doubles, and I can’t live without my Atomic mask, without a good mask I could not see all the cool stuff underwater – just saying…
