A worthy successor to the original Best Selling Fourth Element Proteus wetsuit, divers around the world are hailing the Proteus II series as the best wetsuits ever made.  There’s a reason most of our staff wear Fourth Element wetsuits.

The Fourth Element Proteus II Wetsuit 5mm offers superior warmth over any 5mm and even many of the 7mm wetsuits on the market without the buoyancy and bulk.  The Proteus II is set to redefine itself as the warmest suit in its class.

Water ingress is minimised by a number of design features. Glideskin wrist seals and the now famous hydrolock inner neck seal combine with watertight seams which are double glued, blindstitched and taped to keep the water out.

Thermoflex linings throughout the suit provide excellent comfort and thermal protection.

Additional Hexcore linings on the body core provide enhanced thermal performance where it is most needed for prolonged water exposure.  If you’re familiar to the BARE Reactive series of wetsuits, this suit features a near identical fabric on the torso, while offering a Henderson style Thermaxx style plush neoprene fleece material throughout the rest of the entire suit.

Available in 3mm and 5mm versions for men and women.

The new 5mm suit is probably the only 5mm in the world to feature such advanced features, allowing it to perform more like other 7mm suits with greater flexibility, and less buoyancy. We recommend water temperatures of 19C (65F) and warmer, but we know of many divers who take it into much cooler waters.

Tip: to get more out of any wetsuit in colder waters, combine it with a thermocline vest and shorts underneath and use a hood (3mm or 5mm).

The Fourth Element Proteus II Wetsuit 5mm also features a heavy duty Metal Zipper on the back of the suit which is designed to withstand more abuse than traditional plastic zippers found on many of the other brands wetsuits, many of which do not stand up to the rigorous world of every day scuba diving, especially the coloured plastic zippers, which often tend to have tooth breakage.
